In the presence of members of the Board of Directors of the Cyprus Anti-Cancer Society, LIDL Cyprus today launched its new initiative, “Buy the Bag, Carry the Cause” to representatives of the Cypriot media. This is part of LIDL’s corporate social responsibility programme and aims to provide financial support to the catering programme for the patients of the Arodafnousa Relief Care Centre.
This initiative involves the design and distribution of three wonderful handbags, which were created by LIDL Cyprus and NatarGeorgiou. These will be available for sale in a limited number at all Lidl stores from 19/09/16 until they have sold out, at Arodafnousa, the Lidl Food Academy and the NatarGeorgiou studio. Part of the proceeds from each bag will be used to support the Arodafnousa Catering Department.
This initiative aims at all our fellow human beings, irrespective of age, who enjoy new and pioneering experiences, are socially aware and active, and who contribute to and support worthy charitable actions and organisations.
“I am confident that this initiative of ours will raise awareness and create a chain of humanity, a trend for solidarity with a higher goal,” Ms Vasiliki Adamidou, Corporate Communications and CSR Manager at Lidl, said characteristically. “With Dimos Natar and Andreas Georgiou we have designed a bag that, in addition to being fashionable, carries love, offerings and hope. We encourage you all to buy and hold this bag, informing friends and relatives of its purpose, because Arodafnousa deserves all our help.”
